What we use

Eteia sets no HTTP cookies. We use a small amount of first-party browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage) on your device, all of it set by us directly, and a service worker so Eteia can be installed as an app. The service worker stores nothing. Only if you switch on the daily reminder, Firebase Cloud Messaging keeps that device's notification address in IndexedDB. We do not use any third-party cookies, tags, or trackers.

Strictly necessary

This storage is required to provide the Service you asked for. It does not require your consent.

  • eteia.theme: your light or dark mode choice
  • eteia.lang: your English or German language choice
  • eteia.sidebarExpanded: whether the navigation sidebar is collapsed
  • eteia.tourSeen.*: whether you have already seen the product tour
  • eteia.cookieConsent: the choice you make on this banner
  • eteia.verifyBannerDismissed, eteia.sessionStart: short-lived UI state, cleared when you close the tab
  • eteia.pendingAgeConfirmed: during a Google sign-in on iPhone, your 18+ confirmation, held for the few seconds the sign-in takes and then removed
  • eteia.installDismissed: that you closed the "Get the Eteia app" card
  • eteia.reminders: that you switched the daily reminder on, on this device
  • eteia.reminderPrompt: whether we already asked you about the daily reminder after a check-in, so we ask at most twice
  • eteia.syncSelection: which connected devices you unticked in the check-in's sync step (device names only, no health data)
  • firebase-messaging-database, firebase-installations-database (IndexedDB): only after you switch the daily reminder on, this device's notification address. Removed when you switch reminders off
  • A service worker (/sw.js): lets Eteia be installed to your home screen and shows a short notice when you are offline. It stores no data of its own, not even a copy of the app; with the daily reminder on, it uses the notification address listed above
  • Your signed-in session, managed by Firebase Authentication

Analytics

We do not use analytics, advertising, or tracking storage today. If we ever introduce optional analytics, it will run only after you switch it on in Cookie settings below, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time.

Third parties

None. Our fonts are self-hosted rather than loaded from a font provider, and we do not embed any third-party scripts, widgets, or embeds on this site.
